Great Wastelands
[46:8:12:0]
- It is not necessary to build a RCn
- You will need a certain minimum number of SC's
dependant on the number of AF's you had when you
HSed in. {AF:SC}={0:8},{1:10},{2:10},{3:12}
- Move 2xSC to [L]; 2xSC to [R]; other SC's to [B]
- Move RS to [A] for safety
- I suggest placing Scouts along the top asteroid arms
of the asteroid column [F]
- Set the RC to Harvest once you are 'ready'
- As soon as it makes its first delivery, the Bentusi
mothership will appear [AF] and advance on the MS
- Fleet Intel tells you to go into "Full Combat
Alert" but this is not a good idea. Doing so
will make them say, "You insist on conflict. This is
most unfortunate" and beam your MS into spacedust
- The Bentusi will offer you Ion Beam technology. You
can accept or decline this offer
- If you accept, they HS immediately afterward. If
you decline, they hang around until your RC begins
its 4th return from harvesting, then HS (you can
research Ion Beam technology yourself and save
500RU's)
- The (E)MS + 2x(E)IAF will HS in by far top arm of
asteroids. (E)SCr will HS in from where Bentusi
arrived and will attack RC. Dock the RC
- Set SCr on (E)SCr
- (E)Missile Corvettes and (E)Standard Corvettes
will 'appear' on far side of (E)MS
- As the nearest Scout is liquidized by an (E)IAF,
Fleet Intel will announce that the enemy 'Carrier'
has been detected but it is actually a MS (pause
the game, Alt-Focus to it, look in the bottom-left
corner of the screen)
- 4 -> 6 x(E)IAF's will HS in around your MS;
ideally just a little bit closer than your SC's
which are ready and waiting <grin>
- The (E)IAF's will target SC's before targetting the
MS so set a pair of SC's on each (E)IAF quickly
- Once you have 4xSC's spare, move them [A]
- When you can see the (E)MS near your MS, set these
SC's on its (E)IAF's
- Set your AF's and IAF's on the (E)MS
- Set the RC to Harvest again (it has been docking
continually to 'heal')
- You can try to capture the (E)MS. 6xSC's will
latch onto it but no more. But even when you select
20xSC's and target them on it, they still say, "We
need a bigger salvage team, fleet." So I guess its
design parameters are such that you need more SC's
on it than there are latch-points
